Welcome to Matthew's Memorial Website

Thank you for visiting Matthew's website. Our family strongly believes that we are here on this earth to use the gifts God has given us to fulfull His will and purpose in our lives. Our desire as a family is that you will experience the legacy Matthew has left on this earth and the fulfillment of his purpose, which he realized at the tender age of 21. He wrote about it in a thank you letter he sent out to those who contributed to his mission trip on Spring Break to Costa Rica in 2013. It was to "use my gifts of wisdom and compassion to help peers with their struggles. The Lord has made my life experiences into a gateway to be able to connect with young men and women who are broken and lost int their faith. The Lord has blessed me with a drive to help people my age to not only grow in their faith but also to be challenged in their faith."

It is clear that Matthews legacy reached beyond any age limit he had set himself. God had bigger plans through all of this as we have witnessed Hundreds of lives changed... souls saved... lives for Christ recommitted... a challenge to love more... and a call to seek the Creator Matthew knew so well...

He coined the phrase for himself..."Carpe 'Diem'" ("Seize the Day"), which he so profoundly did on the day of the memorial and each day since. I thought I knew everything about my son. But what I learned through the many stories you have shared is that Matthew touched lives in a quiet and humble way... He did not push his faith on people. He did not separate himself out as a Christian but got into the world with his peers... asked them tough questions, loved them where they were at, and challenged them to live their life as God intended us to do, by loving one another.

May you find comfort in the pages, videos, and pictures reflecting on a life well lived for His Glory that encourages you in your walk...

Much love,

Renee, George,and Taylor

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
